George kindly agreed to command the German forces for the game via Zoom. A combination of German firepower and some less than kind dice rolls and a couple of tactical gaffs on my part saw the British once again compelled to withdraw and concede the field to the Germans.
Replacements will certainly be required for the next encounter.
I am currently painting some more 20mm Germans in winter gear, a lot of my recent games have been 1945 encounters and I think my summer clad Germans have been affected by the cold and coming second, that's my excuse anyway. Perhaps some warmer clothes will improve their fighting.
TTFN and KBO
That camo paint job is superb.
ReplyDeleteThank you Norm that's most kind of you to say.
DeleteI agree! Super result.
DeleteThank you Jonathan, kind of you to concur.
DeleteImprove their performance? Are there fairies at the bottom of your garden then?
ReplyDeleteOf course there are I am away with them quite often.
DeleteAs others have said, very nice work on that camouflage. I enjoy a campaign and the way it makes you think beyond the current game. While you may make some mistakes, often you have a chance to learn from them and put those lessons into action in a following game.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark. Although their squads are small Volksgrenadiers can still pack a punch I hope to do better against them in the next outing.
DeleteGreat looking figs Phil. Playing a CoC campaign really does make you concede ground rather than lose troops
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul, problem was I lost troops and ground🙄 but it would only have got worse I feared.
DeleteGood game and very enjoyable Phil, thanks.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it George, I will pencil you in for the follow up if you are game.
DeleteAlways willing to lead from the front Phil.
DeleteVery nice game and great job on the camo!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thank you for the continued support Christopher.
DeleteYep they need some more warm clothing for sure…lovely collection Phil 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt. Perhaps I need dice warmers too?
DeleteLovely paint job Phil...
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember that the Germans tended to come second in their winter clothes as well...
All the best. Aly
Thank you Aly. That doesn't bode well for their game chances then🙂
ReplyDeleteLovely painting Phil. Good looking game too! 👍
ReplyDeleteCheers
Matt
