Goths and Rebased Romans

At last I have finally finished my first Goth unit. I have also rebased my Roman units on single bases for use with Impetus they can also be used when we play with Neil Thomas's Ancient & Medieval rules, I have added dice frames from Minibits so that we can mark base loss, they will also be suitable for use with Hail Caeser and To The Strongest,  these rules do not have figure removable either. I think that they look more like a body of troops on one base, you can also tell a bit of a story, note the less than enthusiastic chap lurking behind the standard bearer and they are also easier to get out, move, put away and store.

The Goths, except the standard bearer, who is a Foundry "Casting Room Miniatures" figure are from Footsore, nee Musketeer Miniatures, the Romans are from A and A Miniatures, the bases are of course from Warbases.

No game this week as Dave was delayed in New Zealand due to illness, he is now back and has posted some great Maori War related stuff on his Tales From GHQ blog, do go see.

No game next week due to Easter and family stuff, hope to do the WWI Chain of Command, Assault on Church Hill game on Monday 13th.

  2. Excellent looking units. I don't know about lurking behind the standard bearer-personally I would be the other side of the hill doing my laces up!

  3. Thanks Matt, over the other side of several hills sounds better for me, even those 28mm Romans scare to me :-)
