In conjunction with the event was the Barons War Wargames event, as you would imagine the majority of the games in display were medieval themed. There was also a healthy trade presence supported by among others Athena, Gripping Beast, Ironclad and Tiger Miniatures. The games were all of a magnificent standard as you can glean from the following photos of games that particularly caught my eye
Scaling up here are some reenactment shots from the event.
Well worth a visit, entry is free and if you take advantage of the events party and ride £10 entry to the wargames event was a modest £2.
Until next time.....................KBO
Thanks Phil, enjoyed the pics, you had the better day on the Saturday. Weather forecast was grim for the Sunday, so we didn’t set off as the 140 miles didn’t seem worth it ……. and then the weather turned out not to be so bad here after all, so I am kicking myself a bit.
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky we were able to attend either day. I hope the post has alleviated the disappointment rather than honed it.
DeleteLots of "Loonies" on show there! Enjoyed the visit we made with you in an earlier year. The wargames show though is of more interest to me than the reenactments.
ReplyDeleteLoonies? Maybe but one cannot gainsay their knowledge of their period.
DeleteAn interesting event, the games looked great.
ReplyDeleteThank Donnie it was a great entertaining and enlightening day.
DeleteLooks like a great event
ReplyDeleteThank you Scott, a definite improvement on our last visit bigger and better!
DeleteLovely games on display!
ReplyDeleteThey were a joy to behold.
DeleteQuite an outing which has been pleasurable to share from the comfort of my seat at home. Thanks

Glad you enjoyed your virtual visit Stephen.
DeleteThat looked fun!
ReplyDeleteA great time was being had all round the whole show had a buzz about it. We had a great time topped off with panini and coffee at the local Italian cafe.
DeleteLooked good Phil and some good wargames.
ReplyDeleteMost enjoyable and the wargames event was icing on the cake.
DeleteSome lovely games Phil on show and fun dressing up 😀
ReplyDeleteAll good stuff Matt.
DeleteSome lovely looking games Phil…
ReplyDeleteAnd you had nice weather… I don’t think the reenactors would have had as much fun if they had to play in the pouring rain…
All the best. Aly
There was lots to admire and get the wings fluttering. The weather was spot on.
