The 7.5cm Pak40 auf Raupenschlepper Ost (RSO) prototype was presented to Hitler in October 1943 after which plans were to produce 400 per month. However only an estimated 80 - 90 were built, it is not difficult to see why, they were slow, noisy, lacked armour and had a high silhouette, little wonder they earned the nickname "rolling coffin east”
With such a pedigree I just had to add one to my German collection🙂
Vehicle is from
SHQ Miniature and the crew are from
Plana Mayor.Be afraid................
TTFN & KBO
Never saw one of these before. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan. Another waste of valuable resources, my how they aided there own downfall.
DeleteA fascinating vehicle …. Nicely worked and a good marriage of vehicle to crew.
ReplyDeleteThank you Norm. Weird wonderful and totally mad.
DeleteCheap anti tank, hope it lasts longer than my 251/22 Phil.
ReplyDeleteAt least the 251 had a modicum of armour😂
DeleteA lovely little model Phil…
ReplyDeleteI quite like the various German late war innovations/desperate measures…
All the best. Aly
Thank you Aly. Desperate indeed, but it looks cute.
DeleteNicely done Phil you would think they would be thrown off the platform each time it fired !
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt. I picture that 1940 clip of the Sig33 on the PzI chassis and the way it shakes when fired.
DeleteA splendid little addition. I shall be almost sad when it's splatted, almost...
ReplyDeleteI shall conceal it and hope to get a shot in before it is spotted😂
DeleteFine work there Phil. The Germans certainly did have weired and wonderful AFV's etc, which makes collecting and gaming with them so attractive.
ReplyDeleteThank you Steve. They would have been better to focus their efforts on fewer variants, for wargamers a blessing or a curse?
DeleteA very nice addition there to the collection Phil. Unusual vehicles and equipment always add a unique interest to the game in my view... beautifully finished!
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul. It will certainly be interesting to see how long it survives on the table🙂
ReplyDeleteSplendid!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jon.
DeleteThat’s not something I’ve seen or heard of. Lovely painting 😎
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Matt.
