Thanks Matt. A Tiger was discovered out side Berlin post war with a damaged hull, without engine, gearbox, wheels or tracks and its hull partially filled with concrete. No photo but it would make different modelling project.
Lovely, good to see some old school scratch building. It might be a static target but hull down like that should make it quite formidable. If the empty shell casings in the photograph are any indication it was much more than a one-shot wonder.
Thank you Aly. 10 Panthers and 12 PzIV s beyond repair were stripped and patched up where necessary. The one in the photo was at a junction and covered three streets, Badstrasse, Pankstrasse the gun is facing Prinzenallee.
Great looking terrain feature!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, the Germans hope it will be a dangerous terrain feature too.
DeleteThat is a nice looking piece Phil. I look forward to bypassing it next time I'm the Russians!
ReplyDeleteThank you David. That may be the best option, if you can;~)
DeleteLooks to be a very interesting piece.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thank you Christopher, it will be interesting to see how it fares in the game.
DeleteGreat stuff Phil, must use my old Airfix Tigers for the same idea.
ReplyDeleteCheers

DeleteNice job Phil, don't think I would have liked to have been in there though.
ReplyDeleteThank you George. Yup a bit of sitting duck, if not deadly, one in Italy accounted for possibl five Churchills before being taken out by the HQ tank.

ReplyDeleteThank you Mark, I am hoping so, will have to make sure it gets some infantry support though.
DeleteA lovely little... for want of a better world... fortification.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was originally set up at a cross roads.... which would make sense.
I wonder how many were actually used...?
All the best. Aly

DeletePS. 14 are in photos in the book and the location of another 4 are taken from memoirs in books.
DeleteYou could run an entire game around one of these ‘tanks’..
DeleteOr more at different crossroads...
All the best. Aly
