I have done the first bases for the Goths and Roman cavalry, the Goths are from Musketeer Miniatures and the cavalry from A and A Miniatures both with LBMS shield transfers, also a picture of the lanicarii based up. Next bases for all three are underway, busy on paid stuff at the moment though so it will take a while.
Goths!
Equites
Lanciarii
The pics are clickable.
Next weeks game at OHQ will be either a late Great War or Spanish Civil War encounter.
Too kind! David Imrie gave me a few beautifully painted Muskateer minis and some A&As yesterday, I am itching to try to finish some units... but don't have any painting time just now.
I've started basing up the stuff I had from David Imrie, but it is slow work as the minis are so good one wants to lavish time on them. Still I hope to have a small army by the spring.
Quite splendid Phil!
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you Mr. B
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking minis Phil !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael, plenty more to come.
DeleteExcellent work on these guys! A&A as well as Musketeer are simply lovely minis to work with.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Very true, they almost paint themselves.
DeleteExcellent! These are making me want to return to my ever growing Late Roman project.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Thanks Ross, I will have to post a pic of my Romano-British archers to encourage you a bit more :-)
ReplyDeleteLove it Phil! Got me thinking about these figures again.
ReplyDeleteThanks David, yes it would be good to see some more 3rd Cent stuff from you, I might get more ideas to steal :-)
DeleteI had no plans to do Ancients but I must admit these have got me thinking. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt, started off with Late Romans when I started "serious" wargaming, I suppose it was inevitable that the lure of Rome would return.
DeleteExcellent work Phil...... lovely in fact.
ReplyDeleteI certainly know what you mean about being busy ion paid stuff and you have my sympathies :>)
Darrell.
Thanks Darrell, yes I have many a late night to catch up when I have been lured by my own stuff. You too no doubt.
ReplyDeleteThey're all wonderful, but the lanicarii are unbelievable.....lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind comments. I am quite pleased with the lanciarii, 6 more to do, 2 underway.
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely, especially the lancarii and cavalry!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon and thanks for the inspiration to dig them out and get painting them.
