These will be added to the collection to bulk up the various "factions" (yes a word I loathe but applicable to this conflict) Amongst them were two ( "special edition"?) character figures which I just had to paint up immediately.
A magnicent gift which I am humbled to have received, thank you Aly.
Look out for report on Dave's blog on my second defeat of 2026 (I just knew the run of luck wouldn't last) in the next few days.
Until next time happy gaming and KBO
A splendid gift from a generous friend and two spiffing additions already. Don't fret on defeats, more are sure to follow you know 😉
ReplyDeleteIndeed avery fine gift from a very fine chum. Defeats, those I am good at I have found my niche.
DeleteThat first fellow is a tough looking hombre. Great gift from Aly!
ReplyDeleteA grizzled veteran from the Army of Africa no doubt. A great and generous gift indeed!
DeleteBoth figures are excellent characters. The priest makes for a great sculpt and the officer above reminds me of the ‘boy’ figure that Irregular miniatures did years ago in their 20mm WWII range. The blue chosen for the shirt is bang on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift.
Thank you Norm. I glad you think I have done them justice with the paint jobs
DeleteGreat figures. Good policy, embracing the defeats. This allows you to learn from the mistakes; you could immortalize in song the valor displayed. Propaganda can be served by small changes in facts to help cover rash decisions . I could go on, having lost frequntky enough myself.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. I just blame the dice 😂
DeleteA very kind gift that you really made the most of. Well done Phil!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christopher glad you think so.
DeleteNice, and generous, additions. I particularly like the priest who looks quite determined. However my own pastoral office does not permit the carrying of a rifle so I can't imitate his example.
ReplyDeleteStephen
Thank you Stephen. A gift enhanced by these fine character figures. My priest certainly won’t be doing any fire actions only a morale boost.
DeleteVery nice Phil , I love the priest 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt. The priest looks like it was sculpted by Paul Hicks.
DeleteSuperb brushwork Phil
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt, much appreciated.
DeleteArrrgh! No wonder I can't find the figure of the priest anywhere if it was a Crisis freebie! I saw one on another blog somewhere and I've looked everywhere. I can't understand why someone hasn't made one, or more, armed SCW evangelical types commercially available. Lovely work as usual, I find it very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThank you VF. Glad to have inspired.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to have put a smile on your face…
ReplyDeleteI really like the paint job on the Nationalist Officer… He is a bit of a brut isn’t he.
I personally don’t mind the use of “ Factions “ but I suppose with it being the Spanish Civil War you could have gotten away with Columns…
All the best. Aly
Thank you Aly. Yes hadn’t thought of column👴🏻. Thank you once again for the most generous gift.
DeleteTerrific gift and some superb painting there Phil.
ReplyDeleteThank you George. A splendid gift really chuffed.
