Work Stuff Only

Nothing completed for myself this week, in the meantime here is an English Civil War unit I have completed for a customer.

Bicorne and Renegade figures I believe, flag by GMB

If you are interested in A Very British Civil War here is a link to a rather splendid game I had over at GHQ recently The Pig Has Flown

Hope to finish the 1914 dismounted uhlans for next week and rather splendid news, Dave has started sculpting some 1914 German staff figures.

Cards and Jaegers

I have completed my jaeger battalion for our 1914 games, all Great War Miniatures figures mounted on 50mm x 40mm bases and the MG on a 50mm x 60mm base, all from Warbases.

No game again this week, Dave is still laid up with real flu. I thought that I should at least do something game related. Readers will no doubt be aware that for some of our late Great War games we use a Bolt Action/Through the Mud and the Blood hybrid, for some of these games we add a dice to the pot and when it is drawn deal an event card. I usually use the TMB cards for this and thought it high time I made some specially, so with an image off the the net for the back face I set about getting them printed out. Cards range from the End of Turn card, low ammo, air support through to armoured vehicle breakdown to name but a few, most are specific to one side or the other, negative effect cards are played on the opponent though just to make things a bit meaner.

Just a brief entry again, back to paint desk now.

Armoured Truck

Finished off the armoured truck I picked up off Empress at Vapnartak this week, a cleanly cast resin in two halves, body and turret and two metal guns, an ex. Force of Arms kit I believe.  I am also on with the battalion command and machine gun company bases for my early Great War German jaeger battalion, next up will be some Great War Miniatures dismounted uhlans, this release seems to have crept out the back door or I missed it if announced. Just need them to do a staff set now and perhaps some hussars, I recall Dave telling me that he had started on these.

No game this week due to illness and busy schedules, thought that it would have been the weather that postponed it earlier in the week. Well thats it must get back to earning a crust now, heres some I did earlier, Renegade Great War officers and NCO

Vapnartak

Had a grand time up in Yorkshire last weekend. got a bit wet on the way up on Friday when we stopped off to visit the forthcoming city of culture, Kingston Upon Hull, would like to have spent a little longer there but has I have already said it twas a tad damp. Then it was off to North Dalton to our cottage, next day we went over to Bridlington, cold but at least it was dry. Later we drove down to Hornsea for lunch/dinner, afterwards it was back to the cottage to light up t' fire and get warm. Sunday and it was off to Vappa, dropping the good ladies off in York on the way. We got to show around 11.30, having driven in  through the exit, oops! The place was heaving when we arrived thinning out a lot after lunch, which is becoming the norm for shows this day it seems, I collected my copy of Donnybrook off Barry and my bespoke bases from the great chaps at Warbases, apart from these items I got a box of PSC T70's for £10 of GB & SD Hobbies and an armoured truck, a type 10 I believe for my Spanish Civil War anarchists from Empress Miniatures. Besides a great range of traders there were some really nice games on show, a selection of pictures are below
